We’ve just rolled out a huge performance upgrade to our photo editor — and it’s all about making your editing smoother, faster, and more responsive.
What changed?
Until now, dragging sliders (like brightness, contrast, highlights) would sometimes feel slow — or even cause the image to flash or turn black for a moment. That was frustrating, especially if you were making quick adjustments or working on larger images.
Now:
Sliders update in real time
The image stays visible with no black flashes
Changes feel instant, even on high-res files
What we fixed (in plain English)
Here’s what we did behind the scenes:
- Smarter image previewing
While you drag a slider, we now show a lightweight preview — it’s fast and doesn’t block the interface. - Heavy lifting moved off-screen
Instead of making your browser do all the work at once, we now use background processing (a “Web Worker”) to keep everything running smoothly. - No more blank screen flickers
We completely rebuilt how images are swapped during edits, so the canvas never goes black between changes. - Optimized everything for speed
We track how long it takes for your edits to appear, and now all interactions stay under the recommended 100–200ms threshold — meaning it feels fast and smooth.
Why this matters
This upgrade makes the editing experience feel more fluid, professional, and enjoyable — especially if:
- You do detailed adjustments often
- You work on large images
- You care about visual precision without slowdown
Whether you’re tweaking a highlight or fine-tuning contrast, you’ll now see your edits as you move the slider — no delay, no flicker, no frustration.
More to come
This is part of a bigger mission: giving you pro-grade performance in your browser, without needing expensive hardware or software.
Thanks for sticking with us — and as always, we’re just getting started.
